Fabric weight and knit

Seams and stitching
Look for reinforced or double-stitched seams, especially at the shoulders and underarms where the most strain is. Flat seams also reduce chafing.
Fit
Modern rugby jerseys are cut close to the body, so there is less fabric for opponents to grab. Forwards and backs sometimes prefer different fits, and many clubs order both. Stretch panels help movement in a close fit.
Collar style
Choose between a traditional collar, a grandad (button) collar, or a crew neck. Collars should be stitched firmly so they keep their shape after washing.
Printing that survives
